3STARKARMA SAYS GOODBYE
When 3STARKARMA plays their final song on December 7th, 2007 at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA and they wave goodbye, it won't just be part of the lyrics to their song "Bystander", they will be saying goodbye to all of their fans that they've made in their 3 years as a band for the last time.

Consider to be one of Washington D.C./Northern Virginia's up and coming bands has decided to call it quits. Not because of burnout or lack notoriety, but because of their personal lives growing and going into different directions than where being musicians in this day and age may take them. Families, kids and other ambitions take priority.

After coming off of a great year the band felt it was better to go out big than be one of those bands that everyone could have seen one last time or not doing anything for awhile and quietly break up. With airplay on local radio stations, the band's college radio campaign got them airplay on over 200 college radio stations and their CD/EP "The Clearing" debut and/or broke into the CMJ top 5 and 10 with over a quarter of the college radio stations they were played on. MTV picked them up for the Rockband Video Game Promotion Tour. They were a selected band in DC101's Last Band Standing. They were making a their name known by touring from North Carolina all the way up to New York. Voted Alternative Addiction's Band of the month for December 06, their songs ranked highly on Garageband.com. They did radio interviews on WHFS Locals Only and on the Artist Channel Radio Show. And that is only some of the things. Not too bad for band whose members were 9 to 5-ers with families who couldn't get out all the time to socialize and network. Their success was based on people seeing them and liking their music and performance and wanting to see them again.

What would 2008 be like for them? I guess we'll never know.

BOBBY D. LEAVING 3STARKARMA
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT - BOBBY DeROSA is LEAVING 3SK.

It saddens us to announce that Bobby DeRosa has decided to part ways with 3STARKARMA. Colin, Tony, Mike and Matt, all wish Bobby the best of luck in all his future endeavors. He is a talented musician and a friend and we only wish him the best. There is no ill will between us, no crazy story or fights. Bobby's final show with the band will be on November 8th at T.T. Reynolds in Fairfax, VA, so come down and help us send him off with one kick ass show.

All of our other shows will be covered by our friend and original bassist, Jeff McAleer, filling in until we find a permanent replacement for bassist.

Thanks and we hope see everyone at TTs,

3STARKARMA/MTV/ROCKBAND Video Game Tour
The Good and the Bad -

(The Good) We were picked up by MTV to play 4 shows (10-25 thru 10-28) for the ROCKBAND Video Game Promotional Tour 2007 at the Univ. of Baltimore and Townson Univ. in Maryland, which was a great opportunity for us......

BUT (here's the bad)

Due to the gamers going into an uproar when the games were turned off and the live band began on previous tour stops, MTV has decided to discontinue the live band portion of the tour, therefore we won't be playing.

BUT

MTV (and MTVU) has told us that the next thing they can get us on, they will.

You win some, you lose some and we look forward to doing more things with MTV in the future.

It's been awhile....
Yes, it's been awhile since we've said "Hey" to everyone and let you know what's going on in the 3SK camp.

First off, we just finished up playing a few shows in a few days. We played with some great bands that everyone should find and check out from the area. They are theTrustfall, Stillwell, Down to This, Kill Ketura, ADHD, Kick in the Pants, Human Room and the Business of Flies and we'd like to thank Live Jive Productions, Locals Only Radio, Elysium Productions, P.J. Skidoos, Jaxx Nite Club and the Velvet Lounge. We had a blast playing with bands and playing at the venues.

We will be at Fletcher's in Baltimore on July 28th and T.T. Reynolds on August 12th. See our Shows section for more info.

After the T.T.'s show we will be taking some time off. Matt and his wife are expecting a new son and he doesn't want to be playing on stage when she goes into labor. So shows will pick up again in October. The only show that we will be playing is our BoDOG.com Battle of the Bands show at the Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C. - we haven't got a date yet and we'll will let you know when we do. Tony and his fiancé will be getting hitched in September as well, so we will just be writing and rehearsing.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!! Our new 3 song CD will be out soon. We've sent it off to be mastered and as soon as we get it back, it'll be sent off for duplication. We are definitely excited about it and we hope everyone else is too. A lot of BIG stuff going on soon, till then, take care.

WHAT'S GOING ON
S'up everyone. Just here to give everyone a little update on the comings and goings of 3SK.

1. Hope everyone can make it out to our show tomorrow night at Asylum in Washington D.C. (see shows for more info) It should be a blast.

2. Next week our 3 studio tracks will be getting mixed. Then to mastering and then to manufacturing, so look forward to this mini-CD being released in late June or July. We are still trying to come up with a title for it and artwork but the tracks are new studio versions of "You Said", "Skin" and a song called "The Clearing" (which we play at shows).

3. The Ernie Ball Warped BOTB is still going on. We are waiting to see if the judges may have picked us to play the EB Stage here in VA or MD. Wish us luck. If not, starting June 15th, voting starts online for us to possibly win the online prizes. That link is here:
http://www.battleofthebands.com/bb10/bands/3starkarma/

4. We are also in the BoDog.com Battle of the Bands. Upon entering this contested we were ranked by the judges with in the top 20 of the Washington D.C. area and your votes have put us in the top 10. We thank everyone for that. We are still waiting to see what will happen with this contest seeing that there is no definitive schedule or time frame of when bands will be picked or when the shows are. We’ll keep you posted and keep SPREADING THE SOUND and get everyone you know to vote. Here is our link for that:
http://www.bodogbattleofthebands.com/bandsandmusic/profile.php?band_id=4696

5. We have recently entered into MTV2's ON THE RISE. It requires fan votes to get us to each level. Not sure if this is a contest or just a promoting tool, but please go and vote, vote as many times as you like. Here is the link:
http://mtv2ontherise.com/?em=01328

6. The rest of May and June will be slow for us. Some guys are going on vacation and Matt will be getting married in June. If can work in a show in June, we will. If not, we'll be back out on the stage in July and August and with some sweet new tunes.

Thanks again for all the support. You guys are the greatest and we couldn't do this without you.

THE PAST MONTH GOINGS ON WITH 3SK
What's up everybody! Let's just say the last month has been pretty busy for us.

Let's start things off with this past weekend. Last night we had a great show at Hood College in Frederick, MD. It was the Kick-Off for their internet radio station, BLAZER RADIO. We also did a radio interview afterwards on Scott and Collin's radio show. It's was fun and we'd like to thank BLAZER RADIO for inviting us out. We also had a good time at the Buffalo Wing House in Herndon, VA this past Friday.

Also this past month we spent some time in the recording studio with Scott Spelbring at DragonFly East. We laid down re-worked tracks for our songs "Skin" and "You Said" and also for a new song called "The Clearing". Mixing will be done in May and then we should have a new 3 song CD out by late June for everyone to get their hands on.

That's it for the moment, next stop The Chesnut Room in Philly.

Shippensburg = Cool School!
Last night, we had the pleasure of playing in front of a terrific college crowd at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. The room was awesome, the stage was huge, and the Shippensburg students were as cool as we've met anywhere! Though we didn't win the Battle, we certainly feel like we did. On the way out, the organizers of the event, the sound and stage crew, and a nice handful of Ship folks offered some incredibly generous praises of our performance, and we drove home feeling like a million bucks. A special thanks to Becky Jackson & Blair Smith for their part in setting up the event, and for their kind words when all was said and done, and to the entire crew for their assistance throughout the night. We had a frickin' blast, and hope to be back very soon!

For the next month, we will be taking a brief hiatus from playing shows to prepare for the studio in March. As we've said before, we can't wait to share the results of the recording session with you guys - stay tuned!!!

ASYLUM ROCKS
The Asylum show this past Friday night ROCKED!!! Not only did we have a great audience, we played we with two great bands, ALONA and JAMES STEVENS. Please go check them out and give them your support.

This Friday we play at Shippensburg Univ. in Shippensburg, PA. This is a BATTLE of the BANDS show, so we hope all of our new KARMA KREW members from PA come out and all of our MySpace friends as well, so that we can show Shippensburg how the KARMA KREW does things.

During the month of February we will be rehearsing for our stint in the studio in March, in which we will be laying down 3 3STARKARMA tracks to shop to radio and to labels. Then at the end of March we'll be back out SPREADING THE SOUND!!!

Awesome Weekend!
Well, we just wrapped up a weekend of shows, and had a great time doing it! We sincerely thank all of the Karma Krew members who made it out to see us at Grog & Tankard & First Break Cafe. A special thanks to Spilt for playing with us on Friday, to One Slack Mind for inviting us to be on the bill with them, and to the guys in theTrustFall - another kickass local band - for coming out to show their support.

This coming Friday, 1/27, we'll be playing what might be our last show in the DC area for a couple of months! It's at Asylum, and the lineup is killer! We'll be opening things up, and we'll be followed by 2 great local acts - James Stevens Band and Alona. If you're over 21 and you like great bars with awesome music, this show at Asylum is definitely for you - come rock out with us!

After that show, we'll be heading up to Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania to participate in their annual Battle of the Bands. If you go to the university or live nearby, we'd love to see you at the show! It's only $1 to get in, and it's open to all ages.

Once we spread the sound to PA, we'll be heading home to spend the month of February preparing to hit the studio in early March. We're extremely excited about the opportunity to lay down radio-quality versions of several tunes for you guys, and we can't wait to share them with you.

As always, thanks so much for your continued support. You guys rule.

Kicking Off 2006 With a Bang!
Wow - we're only a couple of weeks into the new year, and it's already shaping up to be a terrific first few months for 3SK!

Last week, we received an awesome sponsorship from our new friends at Fonetiks Clothing. We'll be sporting their designs at a show near you! And speaking of shows...

We have a bundle of them coming up, and we really hope to see the Karma Krew out in force! Your support over the past several months has been astounding, and we hope to keep it going this year. We've been working hard on some new tunes as well, so look for those to debut ASAP! Here's what we have coming up in January and early February:

1/20 @ Grog & Tankard
1/21 @ First Break Cafe --> Finally, an 18+ show!
1/27 @ Asylum
2/3 @ Shippensburg University

Check the "Shows" section of our website, or our MySpace, for all of the details. For the under 18 crowd, we are working very hard to set up more all-ages shows for you guys, so please stick with us!

As you can see, the sound is starting to spread outside of Virginia, Maryland,
and D.C. to Pennsylvania, and soon to West Virginia. 2006 is looking incredibly exciting! As well, we will be recording radio-quality versions of some of your favorite 3SK songs in March, so be on the lookout for those!

Well it doesn't seem like we can catch a break at the Velvet Lounge. Due to past scheduling conflicts we couldn't get a show there and when we finally do get a date, something goes wrong.

This show was originally set for Wed. the 4th, but got bumped to the 3rd. We were okay with that. We got the bands Stillwell and Spilt to play on the bill as well. The gig has been set for the 3rd for well over a month and last night we get a call saying that the night was triple booked by the club so we were asked to be bumped back to the original night of the 4th. So with that being said, none us could switch our schedules around in that short of time to play.

Even though it is not in any way our fault, we apologize to Stillwell and Spilt. We shall try it again some other time.

3SK in the Studio
That's right, 3SK will be heading into the studio in March. We will be recording a few songs for us to shop to radio and labels and don't worry we'll also make them available to you.

We will be recording at DragonFly East Studios with Scott Spelbring. Scott has done amazing work on many signed and unsigned acts and we are very excited to be working with him.

We will let you all know as soon as we have finished. In the meantime, be sure to check us out at a venue near you. Our 2006 show dates will start be posted soon.

NEW VIDEO!!!!!
Hello everyone one. We now have a video up for "SKIN" made from live footage. It's not MTV quality but since it was DIY it's okay with us. Check it out in our Audio/Video section. There will be 2 sizes, the larger size takes a few minutes to load but is better quality than the faster loading small one. Enjoy.

Winners by elimination
Our show at TT Reynolds last night went pretty good. We won the night, but it was an effortless victory seeing that neither of the other two bands decided to show up for the fight. Needless to say, it all went well for us.

Thanks to everyone for showing up on a Tuesday night. Look for us again at TT's sometime at the beginning of the new year and we'll see you guys at the next show.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting us.

Our next show is at Jaxx on October 15th. We play at 6pm. Hope to see you there.

Happenings
This past weekend was pretty good. Friday night we played a little cozy spot in Silver Spring, MD called Blondeshells. We'd like to thank Mrs. Jones and crew for inviting us and we'll definitely be heading back in the future. Sunday night we traveled up to Brewnette's in Baltimore to audition for a weekend slot which turned out to be very successful. More news on that to come. All in all it was great to get out and play live again.

This weekend is our first D.C. show, which is at the Grog & Tankard - see our show listings - Hope to see the Karma Krew out in full force.
